The mission of Guavate Restaurant is to showcase, promote and celebrate
Puerto Rican culture through, food, music and art. We welcome our
friends and neighbors from all over Central Florida with different
backgrounds into our lives and culture, so they too may share in the
great warmth, dignity and history of our diverse and colorful heritage.
The culture of Puerto Rico is the result of a number of international and indigenous influences, both past and present. Modern cultural manifestations showcase the island's rich history and help to create an identity which is a melting pot of cultures - Taíno (Native Indian), Spanish, African, Other Europeans, Asians, Middle Easteners, and North American.
With the country's ethnically diverse background, art in Puerto Rico reflects many influences, particularly Spanish and African.
PUERTO RICO
la garzota gentil de tus palmares;
José Gautier Benítez (April 12, 1848 – January 24, 1880) was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He is considered Puerto Rico's best poet of the Romantic Era.
